Like many, I am still in holiday mode.

However, I felt it important to share this little find released in October of last year.

I had no idea that Sylvia Plath, famous for her poetry and most notably her semi autobiographical novel “The Bell Jar”, also completed a number of drawings. In fact, she hoped that one day they would gain some recognition.

Following an introduction from her daughter, Frieda Hughes-the book contains a collection of letters and poetry, nestled amongst detailed and charming pen and ink drawings. These highly detailed studies document her travels through France, Spain and her time in the US. In a letter to husband Ted Hughes she says: “I can close myself completely in the line, lose myself in it.”
